First Bethel volunteers have participated in an Appalachia Service Project mission trip for 18 consecutive years.  Our most recent trip was to the ASP center in Boyd 1454111County, Kentucky. ASP is a Christian ministry, open to all people that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair in Central Appalachia.

ASP provides one of the most rewarding structured service opportunities in the nation by bringing thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Central Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families.   This will be the 50th year that ASP has made homes “warmer, safer, and drier” TM for families and provided transformational service experiences for volunteers.  Last year, 17,030 volunteers served with ASP, providing critical repairs for 642 families.

High school age Youth are invited to join Adult Group Leaders in this transformational ministry for each summer.  We spend a week building relationships, repairing homes, transforming lives and putting our faith and love in action.  Contact the church office or complete the form on our home page if you’re interested.
