First Bethel volunteers have participated in an Appalachia Service Project mission trip for 19 consecutive years.  Our 2018 trip was to the ASP center in Clay 1454111County, West Virginia.  Our 2019 trip is scheduled for June 9-15 to Tennessee.  ASP is a Christian ministry, open to all people that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair in Central Appalachia.

ASP provides one of the most rewarding structured service opportunities in the nation by bringing thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Central Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families.   This is the 50th summer that ASP has made homes “warmer, safer, and drier” TM for families and provided transformational service experiences for volunteers.

High school age Youth are invited to join Adult Group Leaders in this transformational ministry for each summer.  We spend a week building relationships, repairing homes, transforming lives and putting our faith and love in action.  Contact the church office or Gloria S. to if you’re interested in joining us!
